The VFW Post 5108 has been at its current location for 51 years and currently has 905 members. Chartered 12 December 1945. Previous homes of the post include: National Guard Armory on Front Street, Woodmen of the World Building on Putnam Street, and the Merryland Pool Building at the Washington County Fairgrounds on Second Street. This post encourages all eligible veterans to join. We have an active Ladies Auxiliary and Men's Auxiliary as well as Our Honor Guard Squad participates in Military Funerals, Parades, Flag-raisings, and other patriotic ceremonies. Our post also contains a chapter of the Military Orders of the Cootie. We also sponsor a Motorcycle Club.
